Gender reveal cupcakes: how the secret actually stays secret

How the reveal works
The colour hides in the middle. We core each cupcake and fill it with pink or blue icing or sprinkles, then finish the outside in neutral designs, usually white, cream, or a playful mix of pink and blue question marks. From the outside, every cupcake is identical. The answer only appears when someone bites or cuts in.
The sponge and frosting stay whatever flavour you choose, so the reveal doesn't cost you taste. Vanilla and chocolate are the crowd-safe picks from our , and the filling works with either.
How we keep the secret
This is the part parents worry about most, and fair enough. There are two ways to run it.
If you already know and you're revealing to family, you simply tell us the result when you order. If you want to be surprised yourselves, have your sonographer or doctor write the result down, seal it, and send it to us directly through our . We've filled plenty of orders where the parents collected the box without knowing what was inside it. The discipline required to not peek is real, and we respect everyone who has managed it.
Nobody at the party needs to know, the person collecting doesn't need to know, and no, the delivery driver doesn't know either.
Ways to run the moment
The simplest format wins most of the time: everyone holds a cupcake, someone counts down from three, and the whole room bites at once. Phones up, one take, done.
Some alternatives we've seen work well. Give the first cupcake to a grandparent or a soon-to-be big brother or sister and let them announce it. Or pair the cupcakes with a small reveal cake from our so the parents cut the cake while guests bite their cupcakes, which gets both photos in one moment.
For bigger parties, a works as the table centrepiece right up until it becomes the main event.
How many to order
One per guest, and count the kids, because they will absolutely notice being left out of this one. Add a few spares for the video retakes that never happen and the seconds that always do. If some guests are gluten free or vegan, our takes the filling the same way, so every guest gets the same moment.

How far in advance should I order?
Three to five days is comfortable. Same day is possible for standard reveal designs if the day gets away from you.
